Inside the air filter housing, in addition to the air filter element, there is also this air filter just in front of the opening where the air hose connects.

In other words, this filter is the last line of defense before the air sucked in enters the engine.

So replace it with a clean one at a major service to keep the engine clean and perform at its best.

Remember to soak the filter in oil before installation, then carefully squeeze out the excess oil, and only then install it.
