This socket plug is in the cylinder head to seal an opening through which oil would otherwise come out. Always use original parts in your engine block and avoid unnecessary and expensive damage!

When replacing (or disassembling and reassembling) the cylinder head, you will need to install a new gasket to ensure that no oil, fuel or air can leak into or out of the system.
